Our Fieldtrip to Meijer Gardens will take place on 2 days, Saturday, September 12th and Wednesday September 16th. Meijer Gardens tends to be crowded on the weekends. Better photo opportunities may be available during weekdays. Rain dates will be Saturday, September 19th and Wednesday September, 23rd respectively. Images taken on either of these field trip days will be eligible to be entered into the December Competition (Club Fieldtrips and Workshops).
A Dale Chihuly installation is throughout the gardens and inside the gallery. It is understood that a reservation is needed to view the installation inside the gallery.
Anyone wishing to participate in these Fieldtrips should plan to be at our September Competition held on Tuesday Sep. 1st. Grand Rapids is a 2 1/2 - 3 hour trip from the Detroit area so it is expected that it will be an early start. Meeting times for the trips will be discussed at the Sep. 1st meeting. Meijer Gardens also has a cafeteria with a limited but high quality menu. Lighting in the cafeteria is a series of Dale Chihuly glass works.
