I know I've been MIA for a couple months now. I am finally starting to catch up on life as well as our club website. While I was away Weebly has done a big update to the site. I stumbled through getting August and September updated but I still need to fine tune them. Please be patient while I work out the bugs in my learning process. Thank you to all of you for your kind thoughts and words. Pat

We are going to the Detroit Zoo for a fieldtrip this Saturday, Sept. 28. Anyone who is interested in going, please be in the Sears Lincoln Park parking lot on the Dix side for carpooling. I have a previous engagement and will not be able to go. I hope you all have a great time and get some great photos! Pat Ugorcak is working on getting us a speaker for the November workshop. I believe he said he is a bird photographer and is a good speaker, It should be interesting and I know we all enjoy when we are lucky enough to have a speaker come talk to our club. We need to also make time to discuss making a few changes to allow us to spend a little time talking to new members or visitors. One idea was to end the meeting 15 minugtes early so we have time to mingle and visit and welcome new people. We have quite a few things to discuss at the next few meetings, Change doesn't come fast, but hopefully we will come up with a few ideas that we all agree on to implement for the new year. See you all next Tuesday.
Hello everyone! Last night we discussed the fact that not many people took their pictures to the Grind. We have the entire coffee house to display, exhibit, and promote our club. Please bring some pictures and hang them to advertise for yourself and our club. ATTENTION: NEXT MEETING, SEPT 17, instead of having a workshop at our regular library location, we will be meeting at the GRIND in Wyandotte for a Photo Social at 7:00. The address is 3037 Biddle, Wyandotte, right in the middle of downtown Wyandotte. THE CLUB WILL PAY FOR EVERYONE TO HAVE DESSERT AND COFFEE OR BEVERAGE! Let's all meet and have a great time..give Rose some business for allowing us to hang our photos and to promote our club! We will be passing out our club flyers to anyone else in the coffee house. IF YOU CAN MAKE IT TO THE GRIND SOCIAL, PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO I CAN GIVE THE GRIND A HEAD COUNT. THANKS! You can email me at riserc@yahoo.com.
Also we discussed the fact that our club seems to be dwindling down as far as membership goes. It was discussed that maybe on workshop nights, that we cut the workshop a little short and have time to mingle and talk. It was brought up that when a new person joins, there is no time during the meeting to talk to them and get them acquainted with members. That is a problem and I think we should discuss further different ways to attract new members and keep them coming. More on that later. Thanks! Claudia Hello everyone. I was wondering what you thought of an idea I was kicking around with Karen. Since several of us have pictures on exhibit at the Grind, I thought it would be nice if we had a camera club social there for our next workshop (September). Karen is looking into prices for food and drink at the Grind, and I thought if it wasn't too much, maybe the club could pay for it, if everyone voted that way. It's just an idea, but I think it would be fun and something different. We will talk about it at the meeting Tues and make a decision. I am not sure how much money we have in the account, but we can talk to Harvey. So think about it and let me know your thoughts on Tuesday. See you all there. Claudia
