So the consensus was to replace it with a trip to Gilmore Car Museum near Kalamzoo. That was scheduled for later in the year, but we can do it now. Here is the link to the museum. Admission is $10, you can save a bit with a AAA card.
The date for the trip is July 19th. I unfortunately probably won't be able to go, I have a graduation party to go to that day, and the following weekend I have a concert.
Last time we were there, we were there until about 3:00 PM. There is a diner on site that we can get lunch at, the food was a bit limited, but good. I'll warn you now there is a lot of walking, but there are a few places to sit, and it appeared that most of the buildings were handicap accessible.
Tripods weren't an issue, and since most of the shooting is indoor I would recommend bringing one.
Plan is as follows:
- Meet at Sears in Lincoln Part at 8:00 AM. The museum opens at 9:00, so we could leave earlier if we get a consensus on that.
- There will be a coffee and donut stop at Sweetwater's donuts (voted one of the best dozen donuts shops in the country).
- Travel to Gilmore Car Museum
- Optional - Bilbos Pizza in Kalamazoo. It's about 30 minutes, unfortunately in the wrong direction. But they have VERY good pizza.
For those of you that weren't at the meeting last night. We had an impromptu vote on going to the Mud Hens game in Toledo. Needless to say the group overwhelmingly decided that a night out of being social and taking pictures wasn't appealing. Sorry, couldn't resist the jibe :)
