Hello everyone....I spoke with Bryce Denison this afternoon from Midwest Photography Workshops. Last night after our meeting he offered our club an opportunity to attend a seminar at his school in Farmington Hills. We spoke today on availability and have come up with the date of Monday, February 23rd from 7 pm til 9 pm. This is not our regular night to meet, but Bryce was not available on most Tuesdays. We may want to discuss this, maybe we could make this our second meeting for the month and not meet on the Feb. 17th.?? We will discuss all this at the next meeting. Anyway, he gave me a list of topics that he teaches in seminars and we should discuss this at the next meeting also. You can start thinking about what you would like. The topics are as follows: Sports Photography, Basic Composition, Light Isolit theory (advanced composition techniques), Natural light or fill flash, Understanding Histograms and White Balance, The Art and Craft of Black and White, Digital Infrared, Urbanology of Detroit, History of Photography, Life and Times of Ansel Adams, Service to Humanity thru Photography, Michigan thru Bryce Denison's Eyes. Hmm...a lot to think about. This is a nice opportunity for us to grow and learn and I hope we have a good turnout. Thanks! Claudia

I'd love sports photography, but quite frankly I'm the exception here there are only a few of us that do it. What would probably make the most sense is to do something like lighting where they have the facilities and room to do it.

I understand Dave is going to be discussing lighting at the next meeting and possibly some workshops? I'm probably in another minority group but I would like to hear about the life of Ansel Adams or the History of Photography. I think it would be fun and relaxing to learn some historical aspects relating to photography rather than focusing on techniques.

I would like to hear how Bryce would think how Ansel Adams would use Photoshop and modern technology if he had them available when he lived.
